In the 1930's he had a nursery in Puerto Rico, which is where he discovered a robust, solid green sport of the D. warneckii. He cultivated it, named it after his daughter, and started marketing it. The plant you're showing in your picture looks more like a 'janet craig' compacta, to judge from the size and shape of the foliage, than a Dracaena deremensis 'janet craig.' 'janet craig' is a larger plant, with larger leaves. I never have been able to find out if the compacta is a sport of the regular 'janet craig,' a sport of D. warneckii, or if it's a member of a separate species.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16700996106174707766noreply@blogger.com
